For many years, it has been my dream to run the New York City Marathon, a city that has always had a very special place in my heart. Combining my love for New York with my passion for sport feels like the ultimate dream. This year, I completed the HYROX race in New York City. Now, it’s time for my next big challenge: the New York Marathon.
At a young age, I was confronted with cancer and lost both of my parents to this disease. Experiencing the impact of cancer up close has shaped who I am and makes this marathon deeply personal. I want to run this marathon in memory of my parents and to raise funds for KWF Kankerbestrijding. Together we can help build a future in which cancer is more treatable.
Sport plays a central role in my life. It pushes me beyond my limits, teaches me resilience, and reminds me to live fully. All of this comes together for me in the New York City Marathon. Through this challenge, I want to push my own limits while making impact for others.
