In 1949, het oprichtingsjaar van KWF Kankerbestrijding, was slechts 25% van de kankerpatiënten 5 jaar na de diagnose nog in leven. Dit percentage is sindsdien gestegen naar 65%. Een mooi resultaat, maar er is nog een lange weg van veel onderzoek te gaan.

Het Team 2025 jaar is gisteravond afgesloten met een etentje bij ‘t Zusje Amsterdam. Het bedrag dat naar KWF Kankerbestrijding gaat is bekend geworden en daarmee is de cheque overhandigd aan Peter van KWF. Wij mogen maar liefst € 73.674,66 schenken. In totaal hebben wij nu € 544.996,05 overgemaakt aan KWF en daarmee is de grens van 500K gepasseerd 🙏

Het was wederom een heel fijn en fantastisch jaar. In totaal hebben 45 deelnemers dit bedrag mogelijk gemaakt. Een hele mooie prestatie en wij zijn trots op elke renner en zijn/haar verhaal. Enorm bedankt deelnemers!

Aankomend jaar staan we met maar liefst 43 renners aan de start van de New York City Marathon op 1 november. Team 2026 is al een tijdje compleet en al volop donaties aan het binnen halen en aan het trainen. Volg Team 2026 via onze socials en via de link in onze bio.

🏅 Run for Life Team 2025 – wat een prestatie!

Afgelopen zondag hebben alle 42 renners van Team 2025 de finish van de TCS New York City Marathon gehaald 🗽💪 Een ongelooflijke sportieve en emotionele mijlpaal. Samen liepen zij niet alleen 42,195 kilometer, maar zetten ze zich ook in voor een prachtig doel: KWF Kankerbestrijding.

De donatieteller van Team 2025 staat inmiddels op € 95.757,64, en doneren kan nog tot en met 30 november 2025 via onze actiepagina. In januari sluiten we dit bijzondere Run for Life jaar feestelijk af met de chequeoverhandiging aan KWF 💙 Team 2011 t/m Team 2025 gaan dit jaar de grens van € 500.000 voor KWF voorbij!

Met 13 teams achter ons en 323 deelnemers die sinds de start van Run for Life de uitdaging zijn aangegaan, bereiden we ons alweer voor op de 16de jaargang in 2026.

De inschrijving voor Team 2026 is inmiddels geopend en met 27 aanmeldingen zijn we al een eind op weg om het grootste team van Run for Life tot nu toe te worden. Vanuit Run for Life hebben we maar liefst 42 renners die vandaag aan de start staan van dé New York City Marathon. We hebben met nog nooit zoveel mensen aan de start gestaan en dat maakt ons heel trots! Al onze deelnemers hebben zich het hele jaar in gezet voor KWF Kankerbestrijding en dat doen we al 15 jaar. We gaan volgend jaar gewoon weer door.
